The Poco C55 has arrived in India, you can see below how Xiaomi unveils its new entry-level model (the event starts at noon. The phone was first teased last week, then some more info has been published.
The decorative stitched faux leather back is featured prominently in promotional images and gives the C55 a more premium look. However, being a C-series model, there will be no premium pricing for this one: exact numbers will be announced on stage and the C55 will be sold in partnership with his Flipkart.

Xiaomi has been tight-lipped about hardware details, sharing only vague information, such as claiming that the phone’s unnamed chipset scored over 260,000 points on AnTuTu, making the C55 the fastest phone in its segment. I have not.

Anyway, as a sneak preview, we might want to take a peek at the Redmi 12C, but there’s speculation that the Poco C55 will be based solely on that model (with the addition of a fancier back, of course).
The Poco C50 was announced in January this year on a Helio A22 running Android 12 Go Edition with a starting price of Rs 6,500 (actually, it’s a bit cheaper initially due to the launch discount). The back of the C50 has a leather-like texture, but no stitching.
