Some say hello to the Motorola ThinkPhone, or call it Motorola’s Lenovo ThinkPhone, but we’re not going to do that.
This is clearly a Motorola phone, but the ThinkPad style is also evident. Beneath the all-black carbon fiber (which is the only option available) is a design similar to the Moto G72. But there’s more to ThinkPhone than just paint.
Before we continue, let’s do some unboxing. Motorola ThinkPhone ships with a 68W charger and USB cable. There is no case in the box, but you probably shouldn’t cover this stylish phone with one.
Neither is required. The ThinkPhone has his IP68 water and dust resistance rating and is MIL-STD-810H compliant, meaning it can withstand drops from up to 1.3m onto concrete.
The ThinkPhone features a 6.6-inch 1080p OLED with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The software is stock-ish Android 13 with the usual Motorola tweaks like quick-launch gestures, a customizable sidebar and the nice Peak Display always-on feature. A nice ThinkPad wallpaper is also included.
In terms of specs, the Motorola ThinkPad performs well for its €999/$1,080 price tag. It packs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, a 50MP main camera, 13MP ultra-wide autofocus, and 2MP macro. On the other side is an 8MP selfie.

Motorola put a lot of effort into designing the ThinkPhone. The back panel is topped with a carbon fiber weave that’s as premium as any ThinkPad Carbon laptop. The ThinkPhone by Motorola logo engraved in the bottom corner of the panel may not light up, but it’s tactile and premium.
Then there are the buttons. These are some of the best buttons you’ve ever pressed on any phone. It has a clicky yet soft feel that is very unique. You will hear a click when you press the button. Trust me. You have to try these yourself.
