Apple’s Dynamic Island took the world by storm when the company launched it on the iPhone 14 Pro series last year. Android developers have tried to recreate this experience, but Realme may be the first of his Android OEMs to release its own official version.
According to leaker OnLeaks (affiliated with Smartprix), Apple’s Realme version of Dynamic Island is called the Mini Capsule. From the looks of it, notifications flank outward through a circular hole for the selfie camera, rather than a pill-shaped cutout like the iPhone 14 Pro.
A video posted on Smartprix shows the feature in action, notifying users when their phone’s battery is low, charging, and when the battery is full.
So far, it’s unclear what features (other than a battery indicator) we can expect from the Mini Capsule when it launches, or if it will be as robust as Apple’s Dynamic Island.
Several third-party clones have made their way to Android, including the rather well-received DynamicSpot. One of his Xiaomi theme developers is also working on a version for MIUI. Realme also showed interest in developing the feature. (opens in new tab) It was developed for mobile phones with the help of the community, so the launch of this feature isn’t all that surprising.
Regarding Realme’s Mini Capsule, it seems that the function may be announced soon. Realme’s Madhav Sheth apparently tweeted about the feature on Wednesday, but quickly deleted it.
Before that, he previously teased that the company has a big announcement due today regarding its C-series smartphones, which likely referred to the minicapsule feature.

This feature seems to have been teased in a Realme community post (opens in new tab)so it looks like it’s only a matter of time before the phone and features are fully unveiled.
In the research we conducted, the response from readers to Dynamic Island was mixed, with many seemingly uninterested in having this feature on Android, while others would like to have an Android version. Our own Nick Sutrich was also impressed with this feature, stating that Android should have had a feature like this years ago.
