OnePlus exec teases new version of the Ace 2, likely with Dimensity 9000

Leak star earlier this month digital chat station OnePlus reportedly is working on a Dimensity-powered Ace 2 as a more affordable alternative to the OnePlus Ace 2, which uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. OnePlus China president Li Jie seems to have confirmed that by posting a teaser image of two Trumps.

The new version is supposed to use the Dimensity 9000 chipset. DCS OnePlus also suggests replacing the 50MP camera (IMX890) with a 64MP sensor (OV64M).

However, judging by the recent certification issued for the OnePlus PHP110, which is presumed to be the Dimensity-based Ace 2 in question, there may be more differences. This was only certified at just 80W of charging, down from the 100W supported by the Snapdragon model.

This makes sense if this is really the low cost version. For reference, the Ace 2 with 8+ Gen 1 chip starts at CNY 2,800. After the model’s first sale, Li Jie called the demand “unprecedented.”

As the teasers increase, we should get a better idea of when the OnePlus Ace 2 Dimensity Edition will arrive in China (assuming Li Jie isn’t the only one holding us back, of course. ). Will there be a OnePlus 11R Dimensity Edition too? The similarities between the Ace 2 and the 11R are no secret, so that could be possible, but we haven’t seen anything concrete yet.
