YouTube begins testing “1080p Premium” stream option on mobile app

YouTube appears to be testing new options for users who stream YouTube from their mobile app. As a Reddit user discovered u/KZedUK (via today’s tech), a new option for stream quality appeared called “1080p Premium”, which is described as having “enhanced bitrate”. This new stream option is now available to YouTube Premium users and exists alongside the heavily compressed “regular” 1080p option.
