This is a tricky question I asked myself while watching the five (out of six) episodes released to critics. As a fan, it’s definitely a thrill not only to see these characters again, but to see this amazing ensemble reunite. In fact, Ken Marino is completely throwing himself into the embarrassment and pitfalls of the perpetually failing Ron, so I hope he gets hazard pay.
However, picking up this show 12 years later means its heroes haven’t been able to win big in the meantime in order to stay true to its tone and message. Broken dreams, divorces, regrets, and public apologies all come into play as you re-establish.there is just something sad About 40, still clutching a brass ring. The problem is that you can miss the 2nd, 3rd and 18th shots as well, making it harder to tune after each shot. Season 3 also recognizes this, nodding along with us when we’re sick of another crushing defeat, offering a small victory as a modest reward. Or as a lure? I haven’t seen the finale, so I don’t know what will happen to Henry and the Party Down crew. But if you liked the original series, I can promise you’ll enjoy Season 3’s twisted episodes, deathcakes and all.
