As promised, Bullitt Group has announced the first phone with two-way satellite messaging. Well, two phones, actually, a Cat S75 and a Motorola Defy 2. Motorola will be covered in another article.
Before diving into the Cat S75’s specs, we need to talk about its ability to communicate directly with satellites. This is a unique selling point. Unlike Apple’s solution, which is only for contacting emergency services, this solution allows you to message your friends and family from remote locations, such as in the desert or in the middle of the ocean.
You can send a text to any mobile phone user. No special equipment or software required, just receive regular SMS. If they want to reply to you, they should use the free app (available for iOS and Android).
The phone comes with a 3-month free trial of Bullitt Satellite Messenger Essentials. This plan includes up to 30 direct satellite messages per month. After the trial period ends, you will be able to sign up for one of several plans. The cheapest plan is 5 euros per month. We also have flexible and versatile plans depending on your needs.
Of course, you can also use the phone in an emergency. As a subscriber, you also get 12 months of complimentary 24/7 access to emergency response centers operated by FocusPoint International.
All this is made possible by MediaTek’s NTN chip (Non-Terrestrial Networks), and the chipset designers also provided the Dimensity 930. The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, easily expandable via microSD card.
Bullitt cares about the longevity of their devices, both from a hardware and software perspective. The latter promises two OS updates. The phone starts with Android 12, so it updates to 13 and 14. In addition, it provides 5 years of security patches (that is, 3 years of quarterly patches and 2 years of critical SMRs).
As for the former, the phone is rated IP69K, extending the normal IP68 rating by protecting against powerful hot water jets. The phone is waterproof and can withstand submersion to a depth of 5 m (16 ft) for 35 minutes. We also drop-tested it from a height of up to 1.8 m (6 ft) onto a steel plate and tested her MIL- SPEC-810H tested. Up to 24 hours. Resistant to high humidity, salt spray and vibration.

The Cat S75 can get pretty dirty outdoors, but it’s easy to keep clean. You can wash with soap and water or use alcohol wipes. The exterior is covered with Brit’s Hygiene+, a special coating containing antibacterial silver ions.
The screen is guarded by Gorilla Glass Victus. The screen is 6.6 inches diagonal, has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and runs at a refresh rate of 120Hz. There is also an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
Rear cameras include a 50MP main module (f/1.8), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro cam. There’s also an underwater mode, and Bullitt is proud of its waterproofness.
The phone has a non-removable 5,000mAh battery. Supports 15W wired charging and Qi wireless charging.
The Cat S75 is available for pre-order starting today and available at select carriers and select retailers in the EMEA region. The price is €600/£550 and includes 3 months trail of the aforementioned satellite message plan.
