What was once insanity has become an acceptable practice
Just a few years ago, if you offered to put an all-in-one water cooler in your server room, at best you’d get a tough talk and at worst you’d find yourself a new job. This has changed with the new generation of server chips, which often ship with liquid coolers directly from the supplier. With the Dynatron L32 SP5 1U cooler being the first to be reviewed and he being one, it was inevitable that a third-party cooler for servers would eventually come out.
This cooler is specifically designed for AMD EPYC Genoa and Bergamo processors, improving on the design from Dynatron’s original Xeon cooler. Instead of using two different metals for the mounting bracket and cold plate, I used a copper base with a plastic top. The radiator he needs to fit in a 1U rack and has three of his 40 mm fans with a maximum of 58.81 dBA at full speed. It’s meant to live in a server room and has no such issues.
