HMD Global has announced its decision to manufacture 5G Nokia smartphones in Europe.
Moving manufacturing of 5G Nokia smartphones to Europe is a gradual process that will begin in the third quarter of this year, with HMD planning to invest in equipment going forward.
HMD is aware of the growing demand for smartphones in Europe and sees the move as a way to reduce its carbon footprint and ensure mobile phone security and privacy. HMD points out that since 2019 the data center is located in Finland.
HMDs comply with strict regulations for device testing and manufacturing in the European Union.
