Is it a bad time or a perfect time to release a game about humanity ignorantly marching toward its doom unless an otherworldly Shiba Inu guides humans to the light?

Human race, A new puzzle and somewhat platformer game from the publisher of TEtris effect, shown off in the trailer at last night’s Sony State of Play event, and in many ways steals the show from the more traditional big-name titles. It looks clearer, more surreal, and more beautiful than before. You can play the demo on PS4, PS5, PSVR, PSVR 2, and PC from now until March 6th at 3am.

The premise will be familiar to fans of the Amiga classic. lemmings, but the execution is noticeably different. you are a glowing dog The faceless, polygonal human is said to have “no soul, no intellect, no will”, but his blocky staggers out from the entrance of a 3D landscape. A voice is heard to lead them to the light. To do this, give various instructions to the cubic tiles, forcing humans to turn, jump, float, fall, trample, or avoid death by other means. Some amount should reach the tiles that lift them into the glowing sky, but not all.

Unlike its spiritual ancestors, Human race It’s far more unpunished and has a whole other side. At the demo level, there are an infinite number of humans, so if you find a way and some of them rise, you can move on or try again. No matter how many people die while figuring things out, you look unpunished. Ratings can be improved by making humans reach “Gordy’s” and marching Oscar statuettes that must remain alive until they rise.

different again lemmings, You are not just a cursor, you are an entity that moves across the playing field. While you’re working out your high-level go-here-then-there strategy, you have to run or jump to where you put the directive and implement it. Sometimes there are obstacles that a human can only get over by stepping on the unlock button, so you have to rush to where they are next so you don’t lose Goldie. Because they don’t have all the abilities of climbing or climbing, they sometimes move around with a human mind.

It’s important to point out how great all this looks and sounds.like Tetris effect, the visual complexity of moving and flying humans in different colored clothes building and building into a sort of psychedelic crescendo. On the RTX 3070, with graphics maxed out, the demo typically ran at 70-90 frames per second, but the fans apparently spun up. However, this seems like a title that doesn’t require high-definition ray-traced graphics to enjoy the game. I would like to try it on PSVR2.

the soundtrack evokes Tetris effectA calm tone like the air of. I’m not sure if it’s just as generative, or if it increases with the action, but I felt it matched the colorful, contemplative gameplay nicely.

The levels in the demo ramp up fairly quickly, which may not reflect the final game. Level 1 has the humans change direction several times on a flat field. By the fifth level, your human will jump, do long jumps, float and stretch long jumps, scatter through liquid cubes, and often double themselves. The trailer shows more complexity to come, including light stick combat, but we believe it will be a manageable experience for most people.
