Well, one pilot took a selfie, but this one would be hard to top. They were able to take a selfie alongside the infamous Chinese spy balloons scattered across the United States before becoming the first in a series of airborne objects shot down by US forces.
I mean, just look at this great photo. If the Department of Defense hasn’t made it public, you might suspect it’s a social media hoax.

It’s an incredible selfie to be able to see the pilot’s helmet, the stunning horizon near space, and the balloons floating beside you.
The Department of Defense has released a photo taken by a U-2 spy plane pilot. The U-2 reconnaissance aircraft is a glider-like aircraft capable of operating at high altitudes. I haven’t looked closely at these other objects, but I got some incredible images of the balloon that started it all.
