A few weeks ago Meizu confirmed it was working on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Today this phone, or perhaps one of several of his, was spotted by his AnTuTu team who found the test run results.
The phone with model number m2391 certainly has Qualcomm’s best mobile chip. This particular unit is configured with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, but I’m sure there are other configurations as well.

The phone is believed to be a Meizu 20 Pro based on unofficial chatter. We don’t know yet how many 20 series will be, is this the top model or the middle one?We have seen his Geekbench results from the m2392 before. This could have been a different model or just a regional variant. It also had 12GB of RAM and ran Android 13.
Anyway, the phone features a 120Hz display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400px. Although the size is still unknown, the company has confirmed that the upcoming phone will use an ultra-fast ultrasonic fingerprint reader (0.075 seconds to unlock, even with wet fingers).
It also said the phone will have 13 gaming-grade antennas, revealing the market segment Meizu 20 Pro will target. And Meizu says the battery has been tested and retains at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles per day.

In terms of benchmark scores, the CPU and UX results are lower than expected for the 8th Gen 2 chipset, but they look mostly okay. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, as the phone is due to be announced in the spring, so it could be months before the software is ready.
The Meizu 20 Pro and 20 series are the first phones to be announced after the Geely acquisition, so it’s no big deal. And hopefully, it means Meizu will be back in the smartphone business full-time.

By the way, Meizu is taking pre-orders for Meizu 20, apparently with 200,000 people already signed up. As a bonus, it comes with a 36-month warranty. Pre-orders will run until March 14th. This could give us an idea of when the new phone will be announced.
