This subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee is calling on witnesses to testify about innovation and data privacy in the United States. Commission members discuss U.S. data privacy and protection legislation proposed at the last congressional session. In a press release, the commission called the proposed national data privacy standards “the most powerful way to foster innovation, hold individuals accountable for their data, and protect children online.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold this executive business meeting to discuss multiple nominations, including five nominations to district court. Some of these candidates have faced heavy criticism from Republican senators in their hearings, but President Joe Biden has been more successful than his predecessors in federal judicial appointments.As of Feb. 23, Biden has 105 nominees for the court, 20 more than Trump.

The Cato Institute is hosting this policy forum to discuss the Supreme Court hearing on February 21st. Gonzalez V. Google case. This is the first time the Supreme Court has considered Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects his website from liability for content posted by third parties. My first impression of the first hearing was that many of the judges seemed concerned about the impact this potential rule would have on freedom of expression on the Internet. Various policy analysts and experts will discuss the hearings before the luncheon.
