Today Reddit announced a new feature that addresses one of the platform’s frustrating limitations over the years. You can now enter a query to find all comments within a single Reddit post.
On desktop, the search field appears next to the sorting options, below the comment box for leaving new comments, and above the feed of all previous comments.
It may seem basic, but it’s never been possible with the latest desktop version of Reddit. Browser search he CTRL+F or CMD+F didn’t always work either. I had to expand some of the comments to expose them to the browser’s search function.it meant to search all To search for comments in a thread, I had to expand all comments before starting the search. This was not practical for popular posts with lots of comments.
Reddit previously rolled out the ability to search the content of comments across Reddit or within specific communities, but it was not possible to drill down into individual posts using that functionality.

This new Find in Posts has expanded beyond the desktop web to iOS and Android apps. This is a welcome move, as many recent Reddit features tend to launch first on the mobile app before arriving on the desktop. (For example, the ability to mute subreddits on the Discover page only recently launched on the desktop web version after being available in the app for months.)
However, it doesn’t seem to work in the mobile web version. This is no surprise, given that Reddit is notorious for trying to lure mobile users into its app and away from the web.
Of course, this is not the case if you are using the older web version of Reddit.
In addition to announcing this new feature, the Reddit rep highlighted recent improvements that may have gone unnoticed. Those include the ability to search for text in images across the site, tweaks to the algorithm to display different subreddits for search queries, and improvements to browsing video search results.
