Mondraker engineers spent much of the last year building and testing a number of gravel bike frames. The production version of the hardtail is made from Stealth Air Carbon and is compact with a laterally stiff front end and bottom bracket for a responsive ride, plus a 70-degree head angle and 425mm chainstays. It has an agile rear triangle and a long reach measurement. -Comfortable transport.

Elsewhere, the ebike comes with a tapered carbon fork (except the XR model), clean-looking internally routed cables and a minimalist integrated seat post.

Dusty is powered by a Mahle X20 system consisting of a rear hub motor producing 55 Nm (40.5 lb.ft) of torque and a 350 Wh frame-integrated battery for up to around 180 km (112 miles). Charge riding and altitude gains up to 2,400 m (7,874 ft).

Three levels of app-configurable pedal assistance are available, and Mondraker says the assistance is “gradually applied and proportional to how you pedal.” A remote shifter on the drop handlebar makes it easy to adjust the level of assistance. An optional 171 Wh Range Extender can be used to extend the distance between plug-ins even further.

A quick glance at the top tube reveals battery health and power levels, and more ride data is available on the Pulsar One wireless display in the middle of the wheel. The ebike also offers Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity.

Pedal assist in the three power modes is based on the force of the rider's input at the pedals.
