Twitter timeline is broken for multiple users

Usually the best way to know if a service is down is to check Twitter. However, this time Twitter itself is facing problems, so there’s really nothing you can do about it. Multiple people, including TechCrunch staff, have reported that many parts of the social network are broken, including the following timelines. The algorithm’s “For You” feed shows older tweets.

Thousands of people have logged reports of being unable to access Twitter on both mobile and desktop on Downdetector.com, a service that tracks outages through crowdsourced reports.

Some parts of Twitter are working fine, like notifications and lists. When you post a Tweet, it appears on these lists.Currently, the best way to access Twitter is Tweetdeck list.

The latest outage comes days after Elon Musk cut more than 200 jobs in the company’s latest layoff. This included Esther Crawford, head of Twitter Blue, and Martijn de Kuijper of newsletter app Revue.

This isn’t the first time Twitter has run into trouble in the past few months. In December, this social he network faced a glitch, displaying a “Rate Exceeded Limit” error to users.
