Powerful storms have hit California in recent days, causing landslides and damaging homes. Heavy snow, high winds and rain since February 24 have knocked down trees and power lines across the state, leaving more than 120,000 people without power.

The blocked mountain roads mean that people living in Southern California’s San Bernardino County are running low on food and fuel supplies, causing a regional emergency to be declared. No casualties have been reported from the storm so far, but at least 22 people were killed in a January storm in California.

The storm is causing “extremely dangerous to impossible driving conditions” and “extensive road closures and infrastructure impacts,” the tweet said. National Weather Service.
