A notorious ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack against Vesuvius, a molten metal flow engineering company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The Vice Society ransomware gang released files stolen from Vesuvius on the dark web a month after the company announced it had suffered a “cyber incident.”
Interestingly, Vice Society included a confidentiality notice next to the link that allowed them to download the stolen files.

It’s almost as if the Vice Society ransomware gang cares about keeping secrets for everyone but themselves.
The release of the files suggests that negotiations between Vesuvius and its attackers are not going the way the Vice Society would like them to, and are unlikely to receive a ransom from a British steel supplier.
