According to a report from Taiwan, Apple expects a 35% increase in power efficiency from TSMC’s A17 Bionic chipset, which is said to be built on a 3nm FinFet process. Insiders have revealed that this, along with the new camera and USB-C charging port, will be key features driving a “replacement demand” among iPhone users.

Apple plans to use A17 Bionic in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These phones also feature a refreshed design, a periscope camera, and solid-state volume and power buttons.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are likely to stick with the A16 Bionic, but are also getting a USB-C treatment after the European Union effectively forced Apple to do away with the lighting port.
