Last year’s trend of releasing multi-tools on Kickstarter shows little signs of slowing down in 2023. A good example is Disc’s Triangle multi-tool. This little helper has his 14 different tools, most of which seem perfect for his DIY enthusiast who encounters many building projects without a proper toolbox on hand. As the multi-tool market becomes more and more crowded, manufacturers of small devices are constantly having to come up with unique features that set them apart from the rest. So we’ve seen multi-tools with eternal pencils, multi-tools with modular magnetic components, and multi-tools with integrated electric screwdrivers.
For Triangle, the tool that stands out is the “oxygen wrench”. What is an oxygen wrench? It may sound like some sort of gas-filled super spanner that uses a burst of oxygen to remove stubborn bolts, but it’s really just a slot that fits around the bolt head of an oxygen tank. It’s useful if you’re a medical professional, but I’m not quite sure how this feature applies to everyday multi-tool users.

Another weird feature of this tool is the “earbud bud holder”. These are two slots where you can wrap the cord that connects the earbuds to the sound source. The manufacturer claims that the “pock-friendly, scratch-free surface not only prevents line tangles, but also helps extend bud life.” I don’t know if anyone would take the time to carefully place the earpiece cord into the little slot, but at least the rest of the multi-tool’s functionality would be much more practical if it was slightly bent toward the house. improvement project.
There are various metric and imperial size wrenches, drilling guides to help you drive the screws straight in, a tiny ruler, flathead screwdrivers, and wire strippers. There are also box cutters and the ubiquitous can opener. All of this is machined from strong and light titanium, so it comes in a small triangular (of course) form factor that weighs just 12g (0.42oz). Of course, it also has a key ring hole, so it is convenient to always keep it at hand.

The tool is made by Disc Studio, which has already produced its fair share of multi-tools and wallets, so backing the project on Kickstarter seems like a pretty safe bet (although regular crowdfunding Ding caveats apply). The campaign met his modest goal of raising US$500, so if all goes according to plan, Triangles will begin shipping in May of this year.
