Tinder backs UK campaign Better Health: Every Mind Matters

The loneliness epidemic was a pre-pandemic problem, but it’s on the rise. According to the UK Community Life Survey 2021/22(opens in new tab), 18-24 years old, belong to the age group (16-24 year olds) where 89% have felt lonely at least once. According to a Tinder survey of nearly 1,000 single people between the ages of 18 and 25, “friendship” is the top “dating label” they are currently looking for when using the app.

Perhaps that’s why today Tinder announced its support for the UK government’s campaign, Better Health: Every Mind Matters. The goal is to reduce the stigma of loneliness by encouraging young people to talk about loneliness.In England, Tinder users view an in-app message about the National Health Service’s better health resource: Loneliness matters for every heart(opens in new tab) page; this page also includes helpful tips to help you feel less lonely, such as inviting someone over for coffee.

“Loneliness can be experienced by anyone at any time, and it’s important to know that we’re not the only ones who feel this way.” This partnership will allow us to reach even more young people as it is closely aligned with our target demographic.”
