Audi UK has announced the launch of a limited edition electric mountain bike said to be inspired by the company’s RS Q e-tron Dakar rally car. Contains components from Brose, Fantic, SRAM, Renthal and Mavic
Audi says the awkwardly named Audi electric mountain bike powered by Fantic is part of the company’s effort to “offer an alternative to e-mobility beyond four wheels.” The German automaker certainly isn’t just looking to tap into two-wheel electric micromobility. Over the years, initiatives have emerged from the likes of GM, BMW and Toyota, to name a few. Porsche looks like that. Recently, the Croatian threw big bucks into Greyp Bikes and got serious.
With a design said to be inspired by the RS Q e-tron E2 desert racer, this electric mountain bike was developed in collaboration with Italy’s Fantic Motor and is designed to tackle a wide variety of terrain and ebiking needs off-road. I’m here. From trailblades and enduros to downhills and touring.
Four-stage pedal assist and 90 Nm (66.4 lb.ft) of torque are delivered by a 250 W Brose S-MAG mid-mounted motor, while a SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed mechanical drivetrain offers flexible ride options. The chunky downtube, which proudly bears the e-tron mark, houses a 720Wh Fantic Integra battery pack, though it doesn’t claim range on a single charge.

Built around an aluminum enduro frame with carbon components designed to provide a relaxed riding stance, this off-roader has a dropper seatpost topped with a Sella Italia Novus Boost EVO saddle, and Audi has Featuring a complete Ohlins Squish including the RFX38 M. .2 suspension fork, 180 mm travel, TTX22M mountain bike coil shock.
It rides a mallet configuration with 29-inch Mavic wheels wrapped in 2.6-inch Vittoria E-Mazza off-road tires in the front and 27.5-inch Mavics in the rear with 2.8-inch Vittoria E-Martello tires. Stopping power is thanks to IN.CA.S disc brakes with 220 mm rotors at the front and 203 mm rotors at the rear. Riders can also check the status of the e-bike on a small display on the Renthal Fatbar V2 handlebar.
Fantic-powered Audi electric mountain bikes start at £8,499 (approximately $10,000 USD) and come in three frame sizes. The company has not disclosed how limited the limited production will be or when it will be available, but interested parties should register on the Audi Genuine Accessories portal.
