Apple has released developer documentation revealing a new pricing system coming to the App Store. The company has now increased the number of price points he has tenfold, giving developers 900 options to choose from.
This is a big step up from the existing system which costs $0.99 per step and allows integer values to be set if the developer so chooses.
App and in-app purchase prices can start at $0.29, but the maximum amount developers can charge is $10,000, which requires special permission from Apple. New steps include up to $10 per $0.10 interval or up to $50 per $0.50 interval.
Developers may also choose to use “Globally Equalized Pricing” which follows the most common pricing rules in each country or region. Availability of apps and in-app purchases can be localized to allow developers to offer “customized services” to their users.
