Ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of organs inside the human body. The technique developed is the first to measure tension in any type of soft tissue without knowing anything about it. In a new paper published in Science Advances, researchers describe a new method and show how it can be used to measure tension in muscles.

“What we have done in our research is to develop a new method of using ultrasound to measure the level of tension in tissue.
