Realme GT Neo 5 SE appears with an underclocked Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

Introducing the new Realme with model number RMX3700. A smartphone rumored to come out as the Realme GT Neo 5 SE has appeared on his Geekbench, revealing a never-before-seen CPU.

The phone’s chipset will be the Qualcomm SM8450 (codename taro) which is a Snapdragon 8/8+ Gen 1, but the CPU is underclocked, suggesting yet another version of the platform. The most plausible answer is the underclocked chip of the same name with the main Cortex-X2 processor core at 2.92GHz while his trio of Cortex-A710 cores is clocked at 2.5GHz.

This isn’t the first time Qualcomm has offered a chipset that doesn’t max its clocks. For example, the Oppo Reno9 Pro+ is running on his Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with slightly slower prime cores, but the rest is on default specs.

The upcoming phone is expected to borrow a 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate from its sibling, the GT Neo 5 (marketed as Realme GT3 overseas). Other specs to expect are Android 13 and ColorOS 13 based on 8GB RAM. More should follow soon after Realme confirms the existence of this SE version.
