Sling TV announced yesterday the launch of three features that many March Madness fans will enjoy. These include a new “side view” feature that allows web users to watch the game on a small screen overlay. Live-tweet the action, or perhaps work from the office.
The live TV streaming service also launched a new custom Sling widget for iOS devices, adding a dedicated home screen row to update its live “Sports Scores” feature.
To enable the new Side View feature on desktop browsers, Sling users click the button in the upper right corner called “Browse Computer While Watching Video”. This creates a picture-in-picture window that allows users to open other windows, tabs, and apps while watching the live stream. A small screen overlay can be moved anywhere on the page.

Sling TV’s “Sports Scores” feature lets you browse scores for all your sports while watching TV. Launching in the summer of 2022, users will be able to access their NBA, NHL and MLB scores from their NFL and college football games. Now, viewers can watch March His Madness matches on their device of choice. The feature is rolling out to Roku, Amazon, and Android TV this week.
As part of the update, the company also added a home screen row dedicated to live game scores, allowing fans to view scores, watch live games, and access match schedules. Additionally, if a Sling TV subscriber is recording a game for later viewing, the score for that game will be hidden, the company said in a statement.
Sling TV also released Sling Widgets for iOS users, so you can now access your favorite channels, game scores, and DVR recordings without leaving your home screen. The widget has different style options, such as ‘2-line’ or ‘4-line’ options for displaying a guide that guides the user to view the channel.

It’s important to note that fans who want to watch the men’s tournament will only have access to TBS, TNT and truTV with the Sling Blue plan. This means that the Final Four and championship games will air on CBS, so you’ll need to subscribe to another live TV streaming service if you want to watch them. Sling TV does not offer CBS.
Also, the women’s tournament is broadcast on ESPN and is only available with the Sling Orange plan.
Sling Blue is $45/month and Orange is $40/month. Subscribers can also get bundles for $60 per month.
