Assuming your embedded setup can handle 300W or more
The AMD EPYC Embedded 9004 series is very similar to the Genoa processors currently on the market. Models such as the 9354P and 9654 have unique form factors but familiar naming conventions. The core count is also as expected, with the lower end 7354P having 23 cores and the top chip having 96 cores.
The feature set is similar, but there isn’t much that stands out to make EPYC Embedded completely new. One of the unique things about this series is its longevity. These should be usable for the next seven years. This means AMD will continue to maintain their processors and ensure they remain secure even when new vulnerabilities are discovered. This is important for embedded applications. We’ve seen many cases where embedded hardware support for IoT devices ends long before the device is no longer available.
