Meta’s Twitter-inspired paid authentication service first went live in Australia and New Zealand, and is now available to Facebook and Instagram users in the US starting today.
The service costs $11.99 per month if you sign up on the web and $14.99 per month via the mobile app store. The former option only allows you to get Facebook’s blue check mark, while the latter option also bundles Instagram. Direct access to customer support, exclusive stickers, and 100 stars on Facebook every month to show your support for other creators.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use this service and there is a verification process that requires photo ID. Also, two-factor authentication must be enabled. If you are using Meta Verified and want to change your profile name, photo, username or date of birth, you will need to go through the verification process again.
To get started with Meta Verified, if you’re in the US, go to your Instagram or Facebook settings and tap[アカウント センター]Click. If a paid authentication service is available for your account, you’ll see “Meta Verified available” below your name and profile picture. Tap it, add your payment method, go through the verification process, and you’re golden.
People who are already verified on Instagram and Facebook will not have to pay for Meta Verified, at least until Meta removes the “legacy” verification badge.
