Huawei is gearing up to launch the next version of its foldable device, the Huawei Mate X3. A teaser image (via Gizmochina) appears on Huawei’s social media handles, showing that this foldable is both light and sturdy.
The launch of the successor to the Mate Xs 2 is scheduled for next week, March 23rd.

Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, has revealed information about Huawei’s next flagship foldable. Young has shown that inside the Mate X3 he will have a large 7.85-inch foldable display. The external display is said to be 6.45 inches, and both panels additionally support LTPO technology.

By comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 7.6-inch foldable display, with an outer display of about 6.2 inches.
Young also said that the Mate X3 will use UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) for the display, confirming what Huawei has been teasing lately. Gizmochina’s report further states that debuting in 2022, it will be Kunlun glass, the same high-strength, drop-resistant panel used in the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. Additionally, the aforementioned display should feature his 2K resolution.
Finally, the Huawei Mate X3 will be the company’s first foldable device to incorporate satellite communications capabilities, which was recently announced. Additionally, the new Huawei Watch Ultimate could also arrive alongside the launch of the foldable device next week.
Huawei makes some great foldable smartphones. Unfortunately, due to government trade bans, we are not allowed to enter the US market. Huawei devices are also unable to take advantage of the Google ecosystem and related apps for the same reason.
