Google is giving early access to AI assistant Bard to Pixel Superfans

Google is gearing up to unleash ChatGPT’s competitor, an AI assistant called Bard, to the world, and the first to get access is Pixel Superfans.

This is according to 9to5Google(opens in new tab)saw an email sent to Pixel Superfans announcing that Bard was coming soon.

“Meet Bard, an early experiment by Google to enable collaboration with generative AI. As a member of the Pixel Superfan community, we want to give you early access. Please share your feedback,” the email reads.

The outlet claims access to the bard is not yet granted to superfans, but that should happen temporarily.

If you haven’t heard of Superfans, it’s a program for people who really love their Pixel devices. Superfans get access to exclusive perks, including limited-edition merchandise, private Q&A with the Google team, and meetups with other Superfans. As Google eerily describes it, “Pixel Superfans will help you meet, interact, and discover even more about the devices you love online and at live events.”

To participate, you must complete a survey(opens in new tab) Confess your love for Pixel products and give Google some of your personal information.

Google announced Bard in February, saying it would be available to trusted testers initially, and that it would become more widely available “in the coming weeks.” Like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Bard is an AI language model. That is, it should be able to answer queries in a very human way.
