One of the biggest reasons for choosing a Pixel phone or watch is the update schedule. Like clockwork, Google updates its products monthly with security patches, bug fixes, quarterly feature removals, and more.

However, the update also includes some previously unannounced features, such as a new low battery mode that allows users to see the time even when the watch is powered off, or perhaps even if the battery is “dead”. This means the Pixel Watch reserves a small fraction of the battery so you can always tap the crown to see the time, even when the red battery indicator is lit on the screen.
