What you need to know
- Google has started rolling out the “Sync apps to your device” option in the Play Store.
- Devices with signed Google accounts connected will appear and will automatically receive new apps downloaded to the primary device.
- Google also updated the “Available on more devices” section of the app page to include additional phones.
The Google Play Store has started rolling out useful tools to help people with multiple devices.
The first new addition was spotted by Twitter Tipster AssembleDebug (via Android Police). Play Store[アプリとデバイスの管理]in the menu[アプリをデバイスに同期]A new option has been added. Tapping this option will take you to a page listing all devices that have your Google account signed in.

This page informs users that “Apps installed on this device will also be installed on synced devices.” This makes it easy to verify that the app is still there, regardless of which phone you’re using, without having to reinstall the app. It looks like it’s thrown in, but it makes sense (you can enable a similar setting from the Play Store on your Wear OS watch). However, this feature seems to work only for newly installed apps.

Google previously included a list on the Apps page for additional compatible devices in the Play Store that your account is signed into. However, as Russakovskii also explained, the list only showed tablets, smartwatches and TVs. Google is now expanding this list to include additional phones that individuals may own.

Some users seem to have this already, while others are still waiting to see this option.
That said, both features feel like welcome additions and help reduce the process of installing and updating apps (which we’ve already done enough of). However, this is not our only effort to improve the overall quality of the Play Store. Two weeks ago, Google started showing warnings for problematic apps in the mobile app store.
If owners of similar model phones have ever experienced app crashes or other issues with certain applications, you’ll get a very noticeable warning. Google also took the extra step of removing the offending app from the specific detection section so that the developer could fix the issue first.
