If you haven’t heard of it, there are now plenty of brick cards out there
If you were looking forward to trying out a sneak peek of Diablo IV this weekend, we recommend skipping it if you have an RTX 3080 Ti. Similar to what happened when Shinsekai was first released, many have reported that their cards bricked themselves, mostly right after fans reached 100% of his My computer shuts down and restarting doesn’t bring the card back. Most of the reports are about Gigabyte cards, but they are not limited to them.
The incidents are all self-reported, and although we have never seen this happen in the wild, the reports are widespread and considered real. I don’t know, but seeing this symptom makes me think it’s most likely a power issue. Some users who haven’t run into this issue limit the frame rate with the NVIDIA driver itself. It’s still a pretty expensive risk to run to return to the world of Diablo.
