Xiaomi’s Redmi unveiled a slew of new devices yesterday, including the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Still, the sub-brand recently made another pair of handsets official, in this case very quiet, but just added them to the Mi Global website.
We are talking about Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+, which are much lower end than others. Redmi A2 features a 6.52-inch 720×1600 touchscreen, powered by a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC combined with 2 or 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage, an 8 MP rear camera and a QVGA auxiliary lens . MP Selfie Snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging. A 10W charger is included in the box and, believe it or not, charging is via microUSB.
Redmi A2
The “barely believable” theme carries over to the software. This smartphone is powered by Android 12 (Go Edition). So it probably won’t surprise you to learn that 5G support isn’t built in. However, it does have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi A2+
The Redmi A2+ seems to be more or less the exact same device, with only one additional feature – a fingerprint sensor on the back. Both of these will sell noticeably cheaper where they end up being served. You can get it in light blue, light green or black.
