Apple had no plans to release a major update for iOS 17, the iPhone’s next operating system, due later this year. But plans have changed, according to a new report.
According to Bloomberg Mark Garman(opens in new tab), iOS 17 is expected to “check out some of our users’ most-requested features.” Following the release of iOS 16, which took place, iOS 17 was initially intended to tweak existing features, fix bugs, and avoid replays. Awkward release of iOS.

But now that strategy has changed, Garman continued. Apple has reportedly incorporated several “nice-to-have” features to meet popular demand. Of course, we have not yet confirmed which features will be included in iOS 17 (codenamed “Dawn”). But Apple fans aren’t shy about what they want to see.
Frequently requested features include alarm and FaceTime volume control, the ability to set multiple timers, and sideloading apps outside of the App Store. Apple recently released Voice Isolation for regular calls, so you can expect further updates and new features related to call quality. Also, with his ChatGPT popularity as an AI assistant, everyone is wondering if his Siri will get the long-awaited update.
iOS 17 will be announced at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Until then, keep your iOS 17 wishlist open.
