The For You tab is what Twitter calls an algorithmic timeline that shows tweets from both accounts you follow and accounts recommended by the app. This means that you may see Tweets from accounts you don’t follow. Twitter bots were a big motivator for Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in 2022. Musk believes the platform has more bots than it leads in earnings reporting, “making the product even worse.” I believed that, so I decided to deal with it.
