Google Search is constantly evolving to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for from trusted sources. In Google’s latest effort to enhance search and combat misinformation, the company announced new features and enhancements to several existing features.
The biggest addition to search is the new perspective carousel. This will show you relevant posts and content from various journalists and voices on a particular topic. It seems pretty redundant as it appears just below the top stories section on the results page. However, according to Google, Perspectives “provides a remarkable variety of voices on news topics, complementing the authoritative reports you’re already finding in your searches to help broaden your understanding.”

Perspectives will soon be available to English speakers in the United States, according to Google.
Another addition to Search is the new About This Author feature, launched globally in English. As with this result, this is intended to give the reader more context as to who wrote the particular work that appears in the result. Accessible by tapping on her three dots in search results, it aims to help readers trust the author and their content.
In addition to these new features, Google is enhancing some existing features. The results will soon be available worldwide in all languages where search is available. This means more users will get additional context about their searches.
Google Search also expands the availability of information quality recommendations. This informs users that a particular topic may not show many reliable results for various reasons, especially if the topic is relatively new, and “in the next few months” in German, French , the recommendations will be available in Italian, Spanish, and Japanese.
Finally, Google makes this page more accessible by placing About at the top of search results. It also pulls in context from various sources of information about a website, allowing you to see if the site is trustworthy.
