Spamp is a guitar preamp, distortion effect and headphone practice amp housed in a conveniently sized enclosure that can be free standing or clipped to your belt. This circuit is an original design, not a stompbox clone, and was not designed to emulate any particular sound. The main signal path is a distributed gain jfet amplifier. The extremely high input impedance minimizes loading on the pickups, resulting in a wide, flat passband for great sound. No tone or EQ controls. Use the controls on your guitar or amp head. Spice adjusts the gain before the distortion stage. This controls the amount of distortion or roughness. heat adjusts the post-distortion signal level sent to the amp or subsequent effects. No chilled distortion, just the warm tone of the jfet amplification. Of course, you can also wind up some spice or heat in chilled mode to convince a distorted output! Fried subtle application of even harmonics for warm fuzz. Grilled introduces odd harmonics for meaty overdrive distortion. Line in his 3.5 mm socket intended for connection to line or headphone level sources from mobile phones and other media players. It comes with a 3.5mm stereo male to male cable. A stereo input is mixed to a mono signal and added to the guitar output path. This is a unity gain buffer passthrough and does not boost the iPhone volume.
