One of the wildest camper concepts we’ve seen is finally a reality. The Romotow caravan was first unveiled over a decade before him and had all the makings of a one-off concept. It was created by an architectural firm, and when it was introduced it only existed as a rendering and looked like a complete flight of fancy. However, in late 2018, rumors circulated that Romotow was indeed heading into production. And now, four more years later, it’s here. The immediately production-ready version remains true to the original concept. It’s an amenity-laden mobile that’s a cross between an expandable travel trailer and a tiny house with a gazebo and covered porch.
W2, the company behind the Romotow design, and its manufacturing partner ACM Motorhomes, held the world premiere of the Romotow at the Covi Motorhome, Caravan and Outdoor Supershow in Auckland, New Zealand earlier this month. Romotow has been around for 11 years in the virtual world, but this was the first time W2 has revealed a real-life prototype that we last saw him working on in 2020.
Many concept RVs and cars get simplistic and dull in the process of hitting the market, but W2 stuck to the original blueprints and produced a Romotow T8 that’s as wild and impressive as it was on paper in 2012. maintained. -Axle caravan main cabin nests inside the open deck area of the ride to camp then swivels into a large covered deck and he two with a main cabin for 4-6 people Create partial space. The interior floor plan features a spacious dining area in the rounded front cabin, surrounded by wraparound windows. This scenic area doubles as a sleeping space as the dinette converts to 2 single beds or 1 double bed. A lift-away double bed is available for adding two bunks.
The kitchenette, just behind the dining lounge, offers buyers a choice of two styles. A two-counter design with a central aisle and an under-counter fridge/freezer, or a single-counter variant with a tall fridge/freezer. The dual counter version shows the sink and gas ranges on separate counters, while the single counter plan shows them side by side.

Behind whichever kitchen the buyer chooses is an L-shaped dry bathroom with a corner toilet, sink and shower. The bedroom is located at the very back and is separated by its own door. It has a closet and can be ordered with 1 king size bed or 2 single beds.
The patio features composite teak deck flooring and siding and is primarily an open space where the owner can place their camping furniture. Options include a fold-out bench seat or table within the rounded front nose and removable canvas/mesh sidewalls to keep pests out.

The T8 is powered by a 200 Ah Lithium battery charged from a 395 W solar array mounted on the roof. The C-Zone integrated control system with accompanying app provides monitoring and control of electrical components and other hardware. Buyers can also increase battery capacity, add solar panels and inverters. Entertainment options include a pop-up or wall-mounted 32-inch 4K smart TV, an outdoor projector system with a pull-down 82-inch screen, and a multi-zone Fusion sound system.
At 7,495 pounds (3,400 kg gross weight), the Romotow T8 rides a mild steel tube chassis and tandem Cruisemaster ATX spring suspension. An automatic chassis system levels the trailer at camp. The cabin is of aluminum construction and includes insulating composite walls, floor and roof. The standard package comes with 300 L fresh and medium water tanks and a Truma Combi space/water heater. Air conditioning is also available as an option.

The Romotow T8 starts at NZ$429,000 (approximately US$268,500) and the price goes up as soon as buyers start adding options. AMC Motorhomes builds caravans in New Zealand and W2 focuses on the New Zealand and Australian markets, but encourages contacts from other countries. His non-refundable deposit of NZ$10,000 (US$6,300) is required to secure a place in the build queue.
