Its latest concept continues the brand’s heritage New York Auto Show concept and delves into more sporty ambitions, revealing swept-back dimensions and a coupe-like roofline. Genesis unveiled the GV80 Coupe Concept ahead of this week’s New York International Auto Show at Genesis House, a multipurpose space that includes an auto showroom, restaurant, stage and library in Manhattan’s slaughterhouse district. The car represents Genesis’ interpretation of his coupé, a crossover that has become a staple in many luxury brand lineups.
Genesis says the new coupe is a derivative of the X Speedium Coupe Concept that was unveiled at last year’s New York Auto Show, but the front lighting features and centrally positioned grille are reminiscent of the 2021 X Concept. In any case, the latest design has lost his low, streamlined two-door stance in favor of a thicker and more practical four-door crossover body.
