Over the last few years, many have grown accustomed to video conferencing on platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and WebEx. But while these meetings are a great way to communicate remotely, that’s not always the case. Looking to the people in the room.

The video above compares Samsung’s eye contact tracking to Nvidia’s RTX-powered eye contact tracking in Nvidia broadcast software. We recorded these differences during regular Google Meet meetings to create a more natural kind of test.
In the center of the frame is what I would look like without any software assistance. If you look away from the camera, you can see it pretty clearly. Nvidia’s solution does a great job of keeping my eyes ‘glued’ to the camera as long as I don’t tilt my head too far in a certain direction.

Samsung’s eye contact software is much more sophisticated than Nvidia’s. It tries to make my eyes look more towards the camera than they really are, but not over the top like Nvidia.
Samsung’s software isn’t very good at the job of convincingly eye-catching from every angle, but I appreciate that it doesn’t try too hard to get the job done.
Samsung’s eye contact tracking software is very easy to use as long as you have a Samsung laptop with the aforementioned software pre-installed. Studio Mode, as Samsung calls it, is automatically enabled. It should be, but here’s how to check just in case:
1.) Open samsung settingsYou can find it in the Start menu by typing Samsung Settings.
2.) Scroll down and select Advanced features.
3.) Enable studio mode.

After enabling Samsung Studio mode, simply launch any application that uses your webcam on your PC. It could be a video conference on Google Meet, Zoom, WebEx or other similar platform. You can also record videos locally or stream them through OBS Studio. As soon as your webcam is activated, Samsung Studio Mode will automatically launch as a hotbar at the bottom of your primary display.
When the hotbar appears, just tap it eye contact Click the button to enable eye contact tracking.
