Many Mobvoi smartwatch owners IWe are patiently waiting for smartwatch OEMs to release Wear OS 3 updates for their current devices. Unfortunately, according to conversations with Mobvoi representatives, we may have to wait considerably longer.
A member of the Mobvoi Facebook group posted a statement that appeared to come from a Czech customer service representative regarding the still-missing Wear OS 3 update. Mobvoi plans to update the watch in the third quarter of 2023, according to a statement. That means the TicWatch owner may not see an update until July at the earliest.
As it stands, it’s been about six months since Fossil started pushing Wear OS 3 to Gen 6 smartwatches. But even though it’s been a long time, Mobvoi has remained silent on the matter. Oddly enough, a customer service representative said the company had decided to “prioritize other projects,” which explains why the software hasn’t been pushed.

As for what these “other projects” are, we think they could refer to the TicWatch Pro 5 that the company unveiled last summer. The device was set to launch in 2022 as the first of his Wear OS watches to feature the new Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset, but like Mobvoi’s Wear OS 3 update, that device is still out. has not seen the light of day.
Curiously, only the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra and TicWatch E3 will receive the Wear OS 3 update, a representative said. This seems to rule out the regular TicWatch Pro 3, but this could be a typo of sorts and the store clerk both have Snapdragon Wear 4100s, so both Pro 3 models was intended to include
