The latest change is that the platform is[ライブラリ]It’s been a few months since we redesigned the tabs, and the side-scrolling[最近のアクティビティ]Menus have been removed in favor of playlist list view. As a Reddit user discovered (opens in new tab)a new option in that tab brings a much-needed tweak to the interface (via 9to5Google) (opens in new tab)).
The redesign has been run on some devices, indicating that the update isn’t limited to some beta testers. A new toggle for grid view or list view has been added across the sorting options as shown in the screenshot below.

YouTube Music’s new UI options primarily improve how cover art is displayed, images are larger than before, and it’s easier to tap the right playlist you want to play. Similar to the list view, the grid layout shows the title and artist name, but now those details are below the cover art instead of next to it.
Playlists also differ from artists in that the artist’s cover art is square, while the latter is displayed as a circle. As a result, he will only see 4 playlists at a time, and in one row he will see 2 items. On the other hand, in list view, he will see 8 playlists at once. Of course, you can use the toggle to quickly return to that layout at any time.
The latest update adds useful options to make it harder to miss the playlist you want to listen to, but it seems to be better suited to large-screen devices such as tablets and the growing number of foldable devices.
It’s not clear how widespread the update is at this point, but we assume it’s affecting devices via a server-side update.
