Optimized to be as light as possible, the Kaebon EB Eins (One) Electric Boat is a sleek, monolithic mass of carbon fiber designed to glide silently through the water. It’s so light that it actually rides on top of your SUV like a canoe, without the need for a trailer or boat slip. Its sleek shape allows boaters to enjoy their time on the water and get the most out of it.
Imagine rowing a boat on a pristine Alpine lake. Your ship is the only sign of humanity to be seen or heard. You are surrounded by raw nature and striking reflections as it ripples in the glassy water that surrounds you. And yet, you’re running a loud, thundering gas engine, spitting out all the exhaust and oily residue that comes with it.
That’s not how that scene plays out. Instead, the surroundings should be respected like living art, enjoyed via a boat that can coast in near silence, leaving only a faded wake.

Born in Munich, Germany, with just such a vision, Kaebon will build the world’s lightest motorboat in 2021 by Kai Krause (the name of the boat maker you’ve heard of) and develop cleaner motorboats. was founded with the clear goal of A more sustainable form of boating.
“We decided it was time to finally make powerboats more sustainable without putting it off. Powerboats with no regrets,” recalled Krause.
Krause and company looked to the weight-saving achievements of industries such as aerospace and high-performance automotive when choosing advanced composite structures. Kaebon’s first canister, his EB Eins, is made from vacuum-reinforced foam-core prepeg carbon fiber, chosen for its combination of light weight, strength, and durability.

To further enhance the ship’s efficient propulsion, the Kaebon cuts the hull into a dramatic wedge-like shape with a wave-piercing bow and long waterline. All in all, from the sharp stern, to the stout, swooping curve, to the precisely sliced bow, this ship looks like waves crashing out of the water, even when perfectly still.
The beauty of weight savings in vehicle construction means that a lighter and more efficient hull structure means that a smaller powertrain can handle propulsion without compromising performance, and such a powertrain is better than a larger powertrain. lighter than the Kaebon says the EB Eins can glide efficiently with a small motor power and comes with two of his Torqeedo e-drive options. The Cruze 6.0 Premium Drive promises propulsion that rivals the 9.9 horsepower petrol engine, but the Cruze 12.0 Performance Drive upgrades it to 25 horsepower.

Like any hypercar designer, Kaebon has been meticulous about reducing weight, leaving as many ounces as possible. For example, we’ve replaced traditional metal cleats with fabric loops that perform the same function but with less weight penalty.
All these innovative weight optimizations result in a base weight of just 196 pounds (89 kg) for the 17.2-foot (5.3 m) e-boat, which Kaebon claims is light enough to fit on the roof of the vehicle. Kaebon hasn’t released a top speed estimate, but EB Eins says it has plenty of battery power for 45 minutes at full performance and up to 10 hours for slow cruising. Standard chargers charge a battery from 0% to 100% in 10 hours, while available fast chargers do the same in less than 2 hours.
