The new and improved Night Sight was first announced and debuted on the Pixel 7 series. As promised, the company is now bringing its latest set of camera features to the older Pixel 6 family. however, 9to5Google The new zoom bar seen on Pixel 7 phones didn’t make it to the Pixel 6.
Either way, improving Night Sight is no small feat. It’s faster because the required exposure time has been reduced by 50%. As a result, photos in Night mode are less blurry and noticeably sharper. Along with a dedicated night mode, Google has also worked on HDR+ with bracketing to reduce noise.
New Night Exposure Toggle
When switching to Night Sight, Pixel 6 owners will notice a new toggle that lets them choose between fast Night Sight or slower, more exposed Night Sight. Depending on the scenario, the range is set to 2-6 seconds. In bright environments, the 6 second exposure is not necessary.
Google Camera version 8.8 is reportedly rolling out widely, so you can try the update from the Play Store or wait for the automatic update.
