prologue
The Nothing Phone (1) was definitely one of last year’s hype, but was the hype justified, or is it just Nothingburger after all? Nothing to write home about? Stop here, but these puns really write themselves. That may be part of why Nothing chose to call itself that. has no meaning, everyone cries. Still, it’s instantly memorable, and if you’re a startup, you’ll always want to be more memorable than “that makes perfect sense.”
That’s how I ended up with a company that was definitely making something, even though it called itself Nothing. The first smartphone is always inevitable and interesting in its own right. It’s a mid-ranger like many others, but it’s also a mid-ranger not like Other products on the market focus heavily on design, such as iPhone inspiration and the unique back look that, along with the associated Glyph LEDs, bring to the table…but not just the back. The only Android mid-ranger with truly symmetrical screen bezels.

Here’s a device that’s been exaggerated back and forth on the moon, and the specs aren’t out of the ordinary (sorry, it couldn’t be helped). Unique and this seems like the biggest contradiction possible, but it’s not. With all of these factors in mind, it’s been a long time since I’ve done a long-term review of the cliché-sounding ‘what it’s really like to live together’ with such interest.
Also, if you want to know how much of the hype is based on fluff and how much is actually based on the actual quality that this phone has. If you want to know all about what it’s like to use in early 2023, here are some upcoming pages to consider. Without spoiling anything, one thing I can say is that the Nothing Phone (1) is not just a device that just slips into the background and sits there unnoticed, so it definitely wasn’t a dull experience. about it.
