Samsung is set to unveil its next foldable phone in just a few months and nothing has been announced yet, but the rumors have died down and the latest information is about the cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. But if you’re looking for an optical upgrade, don’t hold your breath.
Prominent leaker Yogesh Brar has published specs for the supposed cameras of both devices, suggesting that the next-generation foldable phone won’t see a camera upgrade. It contradicts previous leaks that claimed the Z Fold 5 would have a 108MP main camera and a 64MP telephoto lens.
Instead, the latest leak claims that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold will have a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. Having the same rear camera setup as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 means the successor will be a minor upgrade to him rather than a complete overhaul.

The same can be said for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, as Brar claims it will have a 12MP primary shooter and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. This is not surprising given that Samsung’s foldable handsets have never raised the bar for mobile photography.
