Google’s April 2023 update may be a bit late for Pixel phones, but the company is also starting the week with new updates for the Pixel Watch.
Google has become adept at updating the Pixel Watch monthly, following the April 2023 update, the company announced in a blog post Monday. This update is fairly small and doesn’t seem to include any new features, improvements or even bug fixes.
According to Google, Pixel Watch users can only expect the latest security patches as part of the Android Security Bulletin. This should address vulnerabilities found within the system or within the Exynos chip powering the watch.
The update will arrive on “all supported Pixel Watch devices” and will roll out globally over the next week, depending on the device and carrier connected to the watch.New updates come with firmware versions RWDA.230114.010.G2.
You can update your Pixel Watch by going to Settings > System > System UpdateHowever, if an update doesn’t appear immediately, you can force an update by repeatedly tapping the update screen until a popup appears, but there’s no guarantee that this method will pull the update.

Not all Pixel Watch updates bring new features or fixes. This is what we have seen in previous rollouts. The March 2023 update and removal of features brought some useful new features like the ability to see the time even if the battery is dead and the ability to turn the crown to wake up the display.
Meanwhile, the April update for Pixel phones includes several fixes for Bluetooth, USB connectivity, and macro focus on the Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel Watch is one of the best Android smartwatches you can buy. Thanks to Fitbit integration, it has an eye-catching sleek design, great performance, optional LTE connectivity, and great health and fitness features.
