The next-generation Asus ROG Phone series launch is just around the corner and is scheduled for this Thursday, April 13. The phone’s design had already been seen in photos by Taiwan’s wireless authority, but Evan・Brass has found official-looking renderings of the two upcoming models.
Yes, there are two models, the Asus ROG Phone 7 and the ROG Phone 7 Pro. Both are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but no Dimensity version has been announced yet. The new Pro model incorporates the AeroAtive Portal, a feature of last year’s 6D Ultimate.

A portal is a flap that opens to allow the AeroActive Cooler direct access to the chipset heatsink. As we reported in our ROG 6D Ultimate review, coolers and portals make a big difference in sustained performance.

Only the Asus ROG Phone 7 Pro features a portal that can be judged from these images. It’s also traditionally the only one with a secondary display on the back (the vanilla version requires RGB lighting).
Asus has first-party cases and screen protectors for its phones. DEVILCASE was available on the ROG Phone 6 as well as screen protectors.

According to photos from Taiwan’s National Communications Commission, the ROG phone has a 6,000mAh battery, capable of 65W fast charging (20V at 3.25A). Rumors we’ve heard suggest that the phone will have a 6.8-inch FHD+ 165Hz AMOLED display and a regular 50+13+5MP camera (the last module being a macro camera). We’ll let you know the official details on Thursday.
