Camouflage materials made from natural plant dyes can hide objects in both visible and ultraviolet light, and may be useful for hunters trying to avoid detection by birds that can see in ultraviolet light.
To make this material, Anowar Hossain of RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, extracted dyes from various plant species, including Honduran mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla), mango tree (mangifera indica) and Chaki (camellia sinensis), and used them to print leaf designs on cotton fabric.
